EAMS Girl’s Tennis Takes 2023

End-of-Season Updates on the Team's Successful First Season

This season, 2023-2024, is the first year at the Edison Academy Magnet School that there has been a girls tennis team. The team currently has eleven girls on it, and the Eagles expect to expand in the coming years.

At the GMC (Greater Middlesex Conference) for girls' tennis, Edison Magnet School placed 5th out of over 20 different schools in Middlesex county. Additionally, the first singles player, Manasi Vartak, was first place for her level. This is the first time in over 100 years that someone from the Middlesex County Magnet Schools has placed in the GMCs for any sport.

Continuing to the state tournament, the EAMS Eagles won the first round against Point Pleasant beach on October 5th! Although the girls played hard on October 10th for the second round of states, they had a tough and close loss against Metuchen.

The week of October 15th is the last week of the season and the girls will be playing three games. Currently, their record is positive and it is intended to be kept that way. Give it up for the Edison Magnet Eagles!
