This season, 2023-2024, is the Edison Academy Magnet School’s first girls tennis season. The team had eleven girls on it, and the Eagles expect to expand in the coming years.
At the GMCs (Greater Middlesex Conference) for girl’s tennis, Edison Academy Magnet School placed 5th out of over 20 different schools in Middlesex County. Additionally, our first single, Manasi Vartak, was first place for her level. This is the first time in over 100 years that someone from the Middlesex County Magnet Schools has placed in the GMCs for any sport.
Continuing to the state tournament, the Edison Academy Eagles won the first round against Point Pleasant beach on October 5th! Although the girls played hard on October 10th for the second round of states, they had a tough and close loss against Metuchen.
The week of October 15th was the last week of the season and the girls played three games. Go Edison Academy Eagles!
