Edison Academy’s biggest event of the year has come to an end. From the start of November, the flurry of preparing for the Talent Show consumes the school and never fails to produce an enjoyable night for the community. This year was no exception. In fact, in my 3 years of attending the talent show, I can say with assurance that the execution and theming of this event was the most impressive.

From the lack of random audio cuts to the seniors actually putting on a decent surprise (I might be a little biased), this year’s run of performances were excellent. The theme, lights, camera, action, was executed all the way down to the little details of a box office, and the “Academy Awards”. The emcees were a hit with the crowd, and each performance added to the enjoyment of the evening.

Finally, the night was capped with the Edison Academy students raiding the International Dinner and taking more food than is humanly possible to consume. (I am guilty of this.) However, what went into achieving this perfect night? Let’s find out from Interact president, Jasmine!

Q: What was the biggest contributor to today’s success?

Jasmine: The dedication of the volunteers to meticulously creating decorations and the performers really enjoying their acts was what made today so special. The backdrop took many hours from the painters, the set-up of each table was carefully put together, and each performer genuinely loved what they performed. All of this really resonated with our community and resulted in an amazing evening!

Q: What surprised you about today?

Jasmine: Definitely the lack of audio issues. I could have never imagined such a smooth run. The turnout and support was also outstanding. I also was caught by surprise by some small hiccups like a falling decoration and a mixed up performance, but the response was so quick that nobody noticed. I am really proud of that.

Well, there you have it—one of the best iterations of the most enjoyable Edison Academy productions. As a senior, I am truly sad to have completed my final talent show, but I hope that the tradition flourishes for future students.
